Why I Got Started
dot

I started to gain a little weight around the 5th grade. And by the time I was in 7th and 8th grade I was just another chubby kid. Although I played sports like football, basketball, and track I was still chubby and it was only getting worse. So I decided I was going to lose weight over the summer before my freshman year so that I would be better in sports. But in the back of my mind I really wanted to compete in a bodybuilding contest. I lost the weight I wanted to and the sports worked out like I wanted them to. But, during my freshman year I realized I wanted to do bodybuilding more than anything else. I wanted to do bodybuilding more than regular sports; I wanted to make bodybuilding my life!

How I Did It
dot

I began by searching the web and bodybuilding.com for all kinds of info. When I got the info I needed I put myself on a strict diet. At this time before my freshman year I was more focused on losing weight instead of building muscle. So, I began doing 30-45 minutes of cardio every day. I lost all the weight that I wanted to. Then the summer before my sophomore year, after I realized that I wanted to do bodybuilding more than anything. I changed my diet around and I started to lift with a lot more intensity and focus. I began to lift 6 days per week all leading up to a future contest. Then this summer on June 5, 2010, I competed in my first bodybuilding contest where I placed in the top 5 in the teen class!
