I got started bodybuilding for my senior project after I was left in horrible physical shape after a football injury. I had broken my collarbone on the very first play of our very first game, what luck!
I was unable to work out for three months, which slowly took a toll on my body, and I began to deteriorate right before my eyes. Once I had gotten better, I decided that for my senior project I would enter the teen transformation contest.
From the time I was a child I can always remember having the dream of becoming a pro wrestler. The athletes I watch every week on TV have incredible physiques and are very good entertainers. This was a huge motivation for me to train every day because I got to watch WWE superstars such as Triple H and John Cena, two men who I look up to a lot.
I have always worked out but never anything serious until the year of my senior football season. Towards the end of my junior year I began getting bigger for the following season, unfortunately for me I didn't know that having a good diet was very important when it came to size.
I ate everything under the sun that year and when September rolled around I was 195 lbs and 18% body fat and ready to play some ball. I never felt fat until after I was injured and it seemed like being unable to exercise eliminated all muscle from my body.

I read in a magazine about crazy eights and decided to give it a try. I would rest only 30 seconds between each set so I could hit my body quickly and with intensity. Also, I would do 20 min of HIIT 4 times a week which prevented hitting a plateau.
Get into a mindset when you reach the gym and that mindset should be to give absolutely everything you have and put it into your workouts. Also, diet is by far the #1 reason for success and failure in a bodybuilding program.
If you don't revolve your life around bodybuilding then you will never be where you want to be and reach your full potential. It doesn't hurt to have a role model either. I personally look up to Tom Platz, Triple H, Vince Gironda and Jay Cutler. ![]()
