Have you ever looked at yourself in the mirror and said to yourself "I'm just not good enough"? Well, one day I woke up, walked over to the mirror and said to myself that very same sentence, and then I decided to change it. Everyone wants to get in the gym, and most people actually get in there and lift a weight or two. The reason they don't get results though is because they give up, they don't have a plan. If you wish to get massive gains in muscle you must first wish want to change for yourself. You have to get tired of saying "I'm not good enough" and love yourself enough to make the first step. My goal in life is to become an English teacher. The idea of helping kids grow just captures me and I know it is the only thing that could possible make me happy. One 13 year old in particular, Michael Shultz, really motivated me. After seeing me get bigger after the first month, he began asking questions.
Him being 13, I had no idea what to tell him. So I put him on a pushup routine which he began following like a religion. The day that I said to myself "I am going to be a monster in the gym" was the night after I finished doing pushups with him. I said to him "If you wish to make a difference you have to first be the difference." Of course I hoped he would listen, but what got me was when I logged into Facebook and I saw his status... He had quoted me. People ask "how do you keep that drive? How do you stay in there for hours a day?" You first have to realize you can't do it alone. Let your friends and family become a part of your transformation also. I flexed and still flex all the time. I love flexing for my girlfriend because even though she acts like nothing is different the look in her eyes shows me that she is impressed. The only way that you will stay in the gym is if you see yourself making progress.

Don't be scared to show off a little, if you notice a gain, love it, and appreciate it. Don't just say "Man...I have only lost 5 pounds." Love yourself enough to give credit to your accomplishments.
When I started I said to myself "Will I be good in the weight room or will I be great?" Before I even stepped into the weight room I knew I had to develop a plan. I looked up some YouTube videos and of course typed in the legend, Arnold Schwarzenegger. I found his monstrous workout and decided to attempt it. I quickly found out that his workout, when completed in full, would take up at least 6 hours of the day! So I had to pick and choose. I wasn't trying to become an NFL superstar; I just wanted to look good.
So I followed his chest, arms, and ab workouts religiously. I threw in shoulders and back whenever I felt like it. You don't have to follow a rigorous diet plan. All it takes is for you to say yourself "I am going to get stronger today no matter what."
Tuesday, Thursday & Saturday: Arms
Monday & Friday: Abs
You will not be able to do this workout without the sufficient amount of protein intake. Protein helps rebuild your muscles. If you can't get enough with your diet, go to the store and get the cheap stuff if you have to. A quote that drives me is "you can either stare at the steps, or step up the stairs."
