Why I Got Started
In high school I played quarterback, I was a tall but very skinny successful quarterback with college dreams. I got a lot of recruitment but I was lanky and too small to play big college level ball. I decided I was going to play at SUNY Brockport a local Division III school.
I worked as hard as I could knowing that I would be one of the leanest guys there and that I had to do a 225-pound bench press test the day we reported for training camp. I got my weight up to 190 pounds and was able to bench 225 one time. This was just the beginning.

How I Did It
The off-season after my Freshman year I was determined to get bigger and stronger, I wanted to be just like the Seniors on the team benching 405 and deadlifting 600.
I started eating everything in sight, hitting the weights every day, and lifting as heavy as I could. I saw a ton of changes happening and that next season I came in weighing 215 pounds and benching 225 pounds 8 times. This was when I realized; I loved to lift and wanted to get as big as I could.
Again it was the off-season and this year I was on a mission to get as big as I possibly could. I would lift then stay in the gym and work the desk until close bringing all my meals with me along with all my bodybuilding magazines. It was and still is the only thing on my mind.
I was really seeing results now by supplementing right and having my diet on track. That next season I came in weighing 250 pounds running faster than I did when I was 190 pounds and was no longer playing quarterback; I was tackling them playing defensive end.
My bench press shot up to 315 pounds for 4 reps. Through dedication and 4 years of hard work I was able to gain muscle mass and no longer be known as the skinny kid.
After my junior season I was really into the sport of bodybuilding. I love the lifestyle that comes along with it. I have decided to compete and will be on April 10, 2010, in the NGA CAN/AM heavyweight division. I have leaned out to 235 pounds at 3% body fat.

Suggestions For Others
When I was younger I never dreamed I would gain as much muscle as I have, let alone compete in a bodybuilding competition. Don't ever let someone tell you, you can't do something. If you fall into that trap you will never achieve your goals. "Best Better Rest ... Never rest until best is better and better is best."
