Our Teen Bodybuilder of the Week was...
Sean N.
How Did You Get Started? I was always pretty thin when I was younger, and it really bothered me. I
always wanted to be bigger, but I never really knew what to do or where to
start, so I never really made much of an effort. But then one day something
in my head just snapped, and I decided that I didn't care how hard it was,
or how long it took, I would set out and accomplish my goal!! I realized
that sitting around whining to myself wasn't going to get the job done, it
was time to get off my ass and do something about it!! I started with a
cheap plastic set of York weights in my basement, and once I started to
obtain a visual improvement, I was hooked!! I eventually graduated to higher
quality, iron weights and lifted in my basement for about a year before a
joining a gym. What Workout Plan Worked Best For You? "I've tried lots of different approaches, lifting 2, 3 and 4 days a week.
The majority of my time has been spent on the traditional 3 day per week
push/pull/leg split. Currently I train 3 days a week: What Supplements Have Given You The Greatest Gains? I'm not a big supplement user, the only things I've ever used are whey
protein and vitamins. (multivitamin and vitamin c 500mg). I've thought about
using creatine and glutamine, but I'm going to leave that until I'm a bit
older. Right now my supplements are good, high protein food. Why Do You Love Bodybuilding? What Are Your Future Bodybuilding Plans? I plan to take my body to its full potential and to develop brutal strength.
I've never competed, but it might be something I'll take a look at down the
road. Right now I'm just training for my own satisfaction. Setting goals and
then reaching them. That's what its all about. What One Tip Would You Give Other Bodybuilders? Don't make bodybuilding more complicated than it has to be!!! I think that
is the number one thing that people need to know. Bodybuilding is just as
much art as it is science. You don't have to spend hours and hours analyzing
your routines and searching for "the latest breakthrough". Forget about
"Master Blaster's Bicep Killer" routine or "The Secret to Gaining 20 pounds
of Muscle in 2 weeks". Do you want to know the real secret? The real secret
is that THERE IS NO SECRET. What you do need is dedication and courage,
lifting hard using the basic compound movements, eating properly and giving
your body adequate rest. Brief, infrequent, intense and sensible lifting is
what it takes. The rest will take care of itself. Who Are Your Favorite Bodybuilders? Shawn Ray,
Kevin Levrone, Flex Wheeler, Sergio Oliva, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Erik Lee,
Brandon Lam Favorite Quote And More Pictures! "The more you sweat in peace, the less you bleed in war"
"May God have mercy on the weight, because I won't"
"Don't go through life. Grow though life."
- Deepak Chopra
"A sound mind in a sound body is a short, but full description of a happy
state in this world: he that has these two has little more to wish for."
- John Locke
"Energy and persistence conquer all things."
- Benjamin Franklin

There's so many reasons, all of which I couldn't possibly name. I love the
way it makes me feel about myself, I'm confident with my appearance now and
can walk around with my head up high. I feel strong, powerful and healthy. I
know that I am a part of a very small community of consistent lifters and
not one of the so many people who give it a try but end up quitting because
they can't handle the massive amount of commitment it takes. I know that all
of my motivation for success has come from my own willpower, and I take
pride in that. I have a much higher level of self-respect because of
bodybuilding. I love it when people ask me for advice on how to train,
because it lets me know that my hard work has payed off. Becoming a
dedicated lifter is the best choice I've ever made, and I have an infinite
respect for all of those other lifters out there who are in the gym working
their asses off.
