How Did You Get Started?

My whole family used to be overweight and when my mom got a gastric bypass and my grandparents lost weight for health reasons, my brother and I were the only ones still overweight and eating unhealthy. I had always been trying to lose weight and could never do it and was about to give up. Until I saw my brother losing weight by lifting weights and eating healthy - I decided to join in.

At first I wasn't thinking about looking muscular or what not, I actually used to think muscular chicks were gross looking. I was just trying to lose weight, and lifting weights is a work out so that's what I did. After I saw that I was getting muscular and I started getting comments I started working harder.

What Nutrition Plan Has Worked Best For You?

I eat foods high in protein low in calorie, like egg whites, chicken, turkey, fish and protein shakes. I drink a lot of water, and eat a lot of fruits and vegetables. I also try to get at least 4 servings of grains a day.

Arrow Sample Meal Plan:

I have different varieties of meals but this is on a regular day:

    5:30- 4 scrambled egg whites or a protein shake, toast and a fruit
    10:00- String cheese with a fruit
    12:30- Turkey or chicken wrap, fruit/veggie
    3:00- Pre workout protein bar
    4:30- Post workout protein shake
    6:30- Chicken, turkey or fish with veggie, rice, beans, and cottage cheese
    7:30- Protein shake

Why do you love Bodybuilding?

I love it because it changed my life entirely. I think it's awesome to watch your body change and to know that your the one changing it. Like a sculptor sculpting his clay, you can sculpt your body anyway you want. It helps me stay fit and it's fun to be able to whip all the boys in weight training class. I just enjoy lifting weights and have fun doing it.

What Are Your Future Bodybuilding Plans?

I am not wanting to really get into competing, but I would definitely like to get into the Oxygen magazines or fitness magazines. I am going to keep training until I can no longer train, and have considered growing up to be a fitness trainer. I plan on trying to take bodybuilding far in my life and get some where with it, although right now I'm doing it as more of a hobby than a sport.

What One Tip Would You Give Other Bodybuilders?

  • Stay consistent with your workouts and never give up.
  • Eat healthy, try not to pollute your body and just have fun with it.
