Ever felt like you didn't have enough in you to finish up your last couple of reps? I know I have. You need someone to workout with. Having a training partner with similar goals can help you out a lot. With someone to push and spot you to work out extremely hard, you know that your workout will be good. Personally, it pumps me up to spot and push my partner to their limits. Training Partner Articles:
Picking a training partner should not be a difficult task. Your partner does not have to be built like Arnold, and does not have to be a male, and doesn't even have to be close to your age. You can even have 2 training partners during a training session. Many of the best workouts I've ever had, have been with three of us working out together. I've also got many friends who just like to work out a certain body part for some reason, and some that can't make it to every workout. For example, my friend, Ken, only likes to workout his arms and chest.
My friend Raquel wants to work out her whole body but can't make it to every workout because she has a demanding job. Many times I have worked out with someone twice my age and/or 5 years younger. As you can tell, age and gender does not make any difference to me. The only thing that you and I should expect is a good workout.
You should push your workout partner to his/her limits and expect the same from them. You should workout as hard as possible and your partner/trainer should help you enough to pump out many reps. All you need to do is encourage your partner to not take long breaks between and to stretch between every set. Trustworthy is the key of being a good training partner. If you tell someone that you will meet him or her at the Gym at 12:00, you'd better be there. Do not stand anyone up because they might repay you some day. I know from experience, and it sucks if your partner does not show up.
If you do get into the situation where you get stood up, look around, unless your Gym is as deadbeat as mine usually is, you should be able to find someone working out the same body part you are. Do not be shy, approach them and ask them if you can join in. Nobody has ever told me "No" when I asked if I could work out with him or her. But if you are unlucky and can't find anyone, work out by yourself. Don't get me wrong; you can still get a good training session alone.
Many bodybuilders workout alone and prefer to do so. Personally I like to go past the limit of just lifting what I can by myself and make my spotter aid me. Once you get into the groove, you will be able to pump out many reps and get used to the pain of entering the growth zone with your spotter helping you.
