Our Teen Bodybuilder of the Week was...
Matt Ewy
How Did You Get Started?
I started exercising back in the 8th grade by doing 10 lb dumbbell curls, 50 push-ups, and 50 sit-ups every morning before I went to school. Yeah, I thought I was king of the world back then... but I wasn't even close. When I reached the 10th grade I finally started doing simple weighted exercises, 400-500 push-ups and sit-ups each, and about 50 pull-ups for my workout. I was focused on calisthenics mainly because I decided to enlist in the Marine Corps. I joined Cross Country in 11th grade to lean up my body and build endurance. Life was going good but I didn't have the "perfect" body that I wanted. I worked my body more than anybody at my school but yet I looked just like everybody else. So I started looking on the internet for tips. I started to eat a better diet based on the information that I read about. Now I am in 12th Grade and with the help of BSN I gained 18 lbs of muscle. What Workout Plan Worked Best For You?
4 exercises each, 3-5 sets each, time appx. 65 min. (not including the run) Day 1: Biceps and Triceps What Nutrition Plan Has Worked Best For You?
Its quite simple really... Breakfast: Pre-workout: NO-Xplode Lunch: During the day drink a lot of water, take Nitrix, and eat foods like bagels, yogurt, or protein bars. Dinner: Before bed: What Supplements Have Given You The Greatest Gains?
Universal Animal Pak is my foundational supplement. For Muscle gains I use BSN's Nitrix, NO-Xplode,
and Cellmass. For Protein intake I use Optimum Nutrition's Pro-Complex and Prolab's N-Large II. Why do you love Bodybuilding?
I love bodybuilding because it gives me confidence and discipline in everything I do. I exercise all of the time to reduce stress and for personal gain. There is nothing wrong with taking care of your body and living a healthy lifestyle. People young, old, male, female, fitness gurus, and couch potatoes all admire my determination and discipline for exercise. Bodybuilding gives me a lot of pride and respect from others and also gives me more energy throughout the day. I also feel proud that I am one of the very few teenagers who gives a crap about their bodies and their health. My friends, girlfriend, and my family all can't believe how hard and serious I take this great hobby of mine. What Are Your Future Bodybuilding Plans?
I plan to live a healthy life style through out my life. However I do not plan to compete in bodybuilding because I will be serving my country in the Marine Corps and that will consume a lot of my time. What One Tip Would You Give Other Bodybuilders? Never give up, results take time. Also, don't let other people try to get in your way to prevent you from bodybuilding. I myself do get crap from people because either they are jealous or they can't keep their stereotypical mouths shut. I would say that 95% of the average people out there just tell you what they heard and have no idea what they are taking about. Do what you feel is right, not what other people claim. Who Are Your Favorite Bodybuilders?
Well everybody loves Arnold Schwarzenegger and I like Ronnie Coleman and Branch Warren.
