Our Teen Bodybuilder of the Week was...
Matt Knoff
How Did You Get Started?
What Workout Plan Worked Best For You? I train 5 days a week. Monday and Thursday I train chest and back. Tuesday and Friday I train arms and shoulders. Wednesday and Saturday I train legs and low back. I use a system of powerlifting/weightlifting to achieve great strength and great muscularity.
What Supplements Have Given You The Greatest Gains?
When I first started training I just used Whey Protein to help me start
getting bigger and pack on the muscle. About 3 or 4 months later I started
using Creatine also. Creatine has helped me pull out those last few reps
when I didn't think I could get them. It helps hold in water so in turn makes
me look bigger and fuller. I use 1 scoop of creatine(5 grams) about 30 minutes before I workout and about 40 grams of whey
protein with skim milk after I workout. I take ZMA at night to help me
sleep deeper and allow my body to grow more.
Why do you love Bodybuilding? Bodybuilding has been around for quite some time now and legends have come and gone. When I look at a bodybuilder I don't just look at all the muscles stacked upon more muscles. I look at how ripped he is and where all the striations in his muscles are. Being able to make your muscles grow beyond belief and watch people gasp when they see a pro bodybuilder has always fascinated me. It makes me want to go in the gym and pump the iron and perform to my fullest every time and get as big as possible. I love bodybuilding because now matter how small, short, fat or tall you are you can always get into bodybuilding. What Are Your Future Bodybuilding Plans? I wish to compete in competitions around my area and eventually turn pro. I don't plan on quitting this sport ever unless I get injured beyond repair. What One Tip Would You Give Other Bodybuilders?
I would say that if you're just starting, gradually build yourself up.
Don't go in the gym for the first time and try every exercise that you've
ever seen. Get a bodybuilding guide and start out with a few exercises for
each body part and don't change them. You will start to see results faster
than you can imagine. Never give up your dream of being a bodybuilder no
matter how small or fat you may be. I am only 5' 3" and have been made fun of
before because of my height but when I go in the gym, everyone looks at me like "Whoa, that guy can pump some weight." Never give up no matter what.
Who Are Your Favorite Bodybuilders? I would have to say my first favorite bodybuilder would have to be Lee Priest. The guy is 5' 4" and has 21" arms. He is a beast that can go onstage and make everybody feel puny even if you are 6 feet tall. In my eyes, Lee Priest is the man. Secondly I would have to say Franco Colombu because he was another short bodybuilder that won the Mr. Olympia contest. He always trained with Arnold and always competed with him even though Arnold always won the posedown between the two, he always performed to his fullest.

When I was a kid my dad was a bodybuilder. I admired him very much and
the way his muscles looked. I wanted to be just like him. About a year ago, I
read the Arnold Schwarzenegger's Encyclopedia of Modern Bodybuilding, which
made me wonder if I could really do it. I started to eat healthier for
beginners and wanting to be in the best physical shape possible. Then in
January of 2003 I started weight training/powerlifting.
