Jon Gained 37 Pounds Of Solid Muscle To Rock His Opponents On The Football Field!
When Jon started high school football he was the smallest kid on the team. Find out how he gained 37 pounds of solid muscle to make sure he would rock his opponents and be the best!
I originally started lifting weights when I joined the football team. I realized that you had to lift and become strong to play such a physical sport. I didn't lift much during the season, because I didn't have time. I got more serious about it after it had ended.
I lifted at first to get bigger for football, but I became addicted and love the feeling I get from lifting. I hated the feeling of being the skinniest kid growing up and receiving criticism from many others. I had had enough, and I wanted to do something about it.
I always had hobbies, but nothing that would do me good in the future. Weightlifting is a good pastime for me because I love it. It keeps me healthy and happy. It is a good activity, and I love every day of it.

How I Did It
I joined the football team, and I looked around at the strong kids and the people who I got pushed around by (a lot). I didn't like the fact that they were much more physically dominant in the sport, and I could not compare.
I did some thinking, and started with supplements and lifting hard. The only thing I regret is not starting earlier in my teen years when you develop natural strength because of hormonal changes. I started lifting with the team, and was putting up an embarrassing 115. I didn't want to make a fool out of myself in front of others, so I started going to the gym.
My gym was really small and not many people went there, especially people my age. I gained a lot of strength and size there from determination. Just recently I switched gyms because of the availability of the equipment and my old gym's dumbbells got too light.

Diet
I stick to a lot of foods rich in protein and carbs.
For snacks, I would have something like 4 oz Peanut Butter here and there, or 18 oz protein shakes throughout the day. I just try to eat as much food as I possibly can, while keeping it all healthy and beneficial towards me and my body.
Stick to training and don't get distracted. There are always days where you are tired and don't want to lift that day, but get it done. Every day, every rep. No excuses. Lift hard and give it your best. Lift for yourself, not because of what other individuals think of you.
There is always somebody out there lifting harder and heavier than you. There is always somebody pushing themselves to be a physically dominant machine while you lounge around. What are you waiting for?
