Our Teen Bodybuilder of the Week was...
Matt Ellis
How Did You Get Started? I began lifting at a small local gym just doing the basic upper body/lower body days, later I noticed that I needed at least a few days of rest for each body part so I made up a 5 day split. I then found a buddy that was interested in the sport as well and began training with him. At first I did not eat like I do now, I took cell-tech and a couple protein shakes a day. What Workout Plan Worked Best For You? I train 5 days a week and take the weekends off.
Tuesday
Wednesday
Thursday
Friday
I train my calves every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday and abs on Tuesday and Thursday. While training week to week, I never do the same workout; you can't get bigger doing the same things over and over so I change it up a lot. If I do flat bench press one week, I won't do it again for at least 2 weeks. For every body part I do 4 to 5 workouts depending on if it's a small muscle or large muscle and I do 4 sets of every workout. If I'm not soar the next day then I did not train hard enough.
What Nutrition Plan Has Worked Best For You? What Supplements Have Given You The Greatest Gains? Cell-mass and NO Xplode have given me my greatest gains.
Why Do You Love Bodybuilding? I love the feeling of walking around and noticing people staring at me. The feeling of your muscles so pumped that they feel like they are about to explode out of your skin. Most of all, being able to look in the mirror and respect myself for what I have become through all of the hard work, choking down food, and getting those last few reps that feel impossible to lift. What Are Your Future Bodybuilding Plans? I plan to compete and win next April in the Ronnie Coleman Classic, after that I plan to push myself to be pro by the time I am 25.
What One Tip Would You Give Other Bodybuilders? Never let anyone tell you that you can't do something. Bodybuilding is all about telling yourself you can do it, if you don't think you can then you give up and quit. No Pain, No Gain. Who Are Your Favorite Bodybuilders? My favorite bodybuilder without a doubt is Ronnie Coleman. I live in Arlington as does Ronnie and I train at the same gym as Ronnie does. More Pictures!
