![]() By: Derek Charlebois 2 Weeks Out From The Show
NOTICE: This is article #9 of this series. Click HERE for the front page. Monday (04/15/02) 2 weeks out! Forget weeks, 14 days out!!! I am so excited. Everything is set. I have 2 posing suits, my Dream Tan, protein, L-Glutamine, and the rest of my vitamins. I am locked and loaded. My confidence is ever increasing with the positive comments I have been receiving through my email and on the message board about my pics. I cannot believe how ripped I have become! I have never been in such great shape and condition. Everything is flowing smoothly. I got my posing routine to music down, but I still plan on practicing of course. My will power is super charged making cheating out of the question. Thinking about what lies ahead gives me goosebumps. The thought of getting on stage and having people cheer for you is exhilarating. This is no time to let up on the gas. From here on out, it's peddle to the metal, full throttle, and I've got a full tank of gas! Let's do this! ![]() Making my protein shake. (Click to enlarge.) The beginning to a wonderful week. As I look in the mirror and see what I have accomplished, and think about what will happen after the contest, there is one thing I know, I will not be binging after the contest. I have worked super hard to achieve this physique and I do not plan on only having it for one day. Granted I might have a cheat meal or two the week after, but there will be no out of control binge on junk. Diet Change I took out the 2 slices of fat free cheese and the egg I eat during the day. This drops about 15 grams of protein, 5 grams of carbs, and 5 grams of fat. Not a big drop, but an efficient one. I was able to lay outside for about 20-30 minutes today. It was beautiful out! It was in the 80's partly cloudy, but still some good sun. Training Donkey Calf Raises brother + 50 x 20, 15, 10
Tuesday (04/16/02) 13 days to go! With each day I am closer to my dream. It seems easier to stay away from junk food right now. I know this is no time to give in to my cravings. I think of it this way, what is more rewarding, eating junk that might taste good or coming home with the trophy. The answer is obvious. It was perfect out today! Not a cloud in the sky. I laid out in the sun for 40 minutes (20 front and 20 back). Tanning outside, I feel, is much better than tanning in a salon. It feels better and is way more enjoyable.
Training (Tri-set)
Wednesday (04/17/02) 12 days out! I was thinking about the contest and what I would do on stage today. My plan is, during prejudging not to worry about what everyone else is doing. To just think that I am the only person on the stage. Hit my poses. And that's that. There will be no, "The guy to the right looks better than me." Or I wonder what the guy all the way at the end is doing. During the time I am on the stage, I will be the only person "on stage". ![]() Take your AST GL3 Glutamine or DIE! Haha. (Click to enlarge.) Sunday (04/21/02) 1 week! 7 days to go! I am so ready to get this party started! Today is my carb up day. I will be having 250 grams of carbs today. Next week's diet will be changing everyday. You will also see a lot of strategy. Cardio 30 minutes on the treadmill. 1 week left! MORE PICS FROM THE END OF THIS WEEK: ![]() Return to my Contest Preperation page to continue!
