How Did You Get Started?

Here's My History

I've always been stronger and more ripped than my friends since I was very young. I always impressed my buddies with strength feats and many other things. I started to play football at the age of 12. I was like the little brute of my team - I was playing fullback. When I was 15, my football coach started to give us some speed development workout programs but I never did like that. I preferred to lift big, crazy weight. Anyway, I've injured myself in the back so I only did 1 month.

The summer 2005, I subscribed at a little gym where I was training alone everyday. I did two months of a 3 days on, 1 day off mass building workout program. When I arrived at the next season—the first practice of that one—I got injured very badly to my left shoulder. I took two days of rest and then I started to play again all season long with crazy pain. After that one, I went to see many doctors and finally discovered that it was my nerve which was almost completely broken. I had no more activity in two muscles: my infra-spinatus and my supra-spinatus. My shoulder was d@mn weak and I was unable to do any workouts. I quickly went crazy and started to think that all my future in football and other activities was f****d up.

One day, I swore, that if (someday) my nerve got better, I would become the most ripped teen in the world. The next day, I was at the library to buy some books on training and I was on the net all the time to search for information on that. I've become a real encyclopedia about working out.

The summer 2006, I subscribed in the same small gym from the previous year. I started to train with a lot of pain. I decided to create my own program to cure that shoulder and give some strength to my muscle. It was really sad. I really was so weak. But then one day I noticed the training was paying off. I remember that day, I had already gotten crazy results to my overall body. After that, I was thinking... no pain, no gain! I worked out really hard and slowly recovered strength in my shoulder and arm. My dream was coming alive.

I arrived the next football season bigger than everybody and stronger too. I stopped to train for two months and started lightly again in mid October. I really started my bodybuilding training in November and never stopped since that day...

What Workout Plan Worked Best For You?

The Best workout plan I've done was one I've created by taking a lot of information everywhere and I've been helped by a good trainer. I've mixed powerlifting, bodybuilding and football program together. Here is what it looks like:

Day 1:

Day 2:

Day 3:

Day 5:

What Nutrition Plan Has Worked Best For You?

He-he... for that it's the, "Eat everything in sight." I have done that since last summer. I'm always hungry. But now, I follow a diet to be ready for my first show on March 31st! I hope I'll do great.

What Supplements Have Given You The Greatest Gains?

I never saw the utility of supplements if I could get really big and lean without them. It's really expensive and there is really too much trademark. I'm not against that, but I would prefer to stay away from that until I have no more quick gains.

Why Do You Love Bodybuilding?

The muscle growth! The pump! The lifestyle! Everything about this is great. You discover how your body works and you learn to live healthier and better. It also helps me perform well in sports and look bigger. When you got muscle, people take you more seriously and you gain some respect.

What Are Your Future Bodybuilding Plans?

I plan to win some competitions and stop to gain mass. I would like to hit 200 pounds. I don't think that I'll do that to become pro, but only time will give me the answer! I know that there is so much drugs in the sport like all the others and I really don't wanna get into that.

What One Tip Would You Give Other Bodybuilders?

Consider your body as a machine! Go on my website www.charley.c.la to get all my tips. It's a bodybuilding forum with only 1 goal... to help other bodybuilders!

Who Are Your Favorite Bodybuilders?

Arnold Schwarzenegger is probably my favorite bodybuilder of all time. His body wasn't like the bodybuilder of our days. But if I had to choose one of the current IFBB pros, I'll go with Flex Wheeler. This guy is great!!
