How Did You Get Started?

I had been a really scrawny skater-kid up till junior year of high school... then, for some reason, I just started lifting like crazy. Through a lot of hard work and dedication, I've put on over 65 lbs. of muscle in little over 2 years.

What Workout Plan Worked Best For You?

Right now I work everything once a week, which comes down to me lifting 5 days a week. My workouts are extremely long, and I normally work one muscle-group per day. I split it up as follows:

No Specific Plan:

The reason I don't write it down is because I myself don't have any written diet or training plan... I have always played it by feel as I move through my day. When I walk into the gym, I don't fully know what my routine will be for the day. All I know is, as I listed, the muscle group I'm training for the day... I do, however, always start my workouts with a core exercise, like barbell benches, squats, military presses...etc.

With these movements, I try to keep the weight high and the reps low in order to build my strength. As my workout moves on, and the muscle fatigues, I'll work into the 8-12 rep range with other movements. This allows me to reap the benefits of both heavy power training, and defining bodybuilding training.

Even if I did have a written routine, I would prefer not to write it down as I would not recommend it to most individuals, if anyone. My workouts a roughly three hours long (for one muscle group) and would be severe overtraining for most people. All I can say is that I must be wired differently than most, because I get good results from training the way I do.

What Nutrition Plan Has Worked Best For You?

I just use common sense... I've never followed a "diet." I eat a lot of protein and a lot of carbs too. I never eat sweets like candy, cookies, or cake. I feel it's easier to cut them out entirely than to try to eat them in moderation. I also eat a lot of nutrition/protein bars as snacks when I get hungry between meals.

My diet right now is that I eat roughly every two hours... normally a carb and a protein. Normal meals for me would be a 40g protein shake with some grits, or chicken breast with potatoes. Right now I also drink a 40g protein shake with a serving of waxy maize after every workout.

If you have any questions, message me on BodySpace and I will try to answer any questions you may have.

What Supplements Have Given You The Greatest Gains?

I'd have to say that NO/creatine/energy type products have probably benefitted me the most, besides a solid protein powder.

My favorites are:

Why do you love Bodybuilding?

I love it because it gives me a positive thing to work towards and goals to achieve. I also enjoy the stares I get when I'm out and about and the respect people seem to give me for what I've done. I've always enjoyed standing out in the crowd, and bodybuilding has definitely helped me to achieve that.

What One Tip Would You Give Other Bodybuilders?

Never give up, no matter what! Dedication makes the difference. I go to the gym when I'm sick; when I feel like crap, and when I have other things I should be doing. What you get out of bodybuilding is dependent on what you're willing to put into it. Go heavy, and don't leave that gym until whatever muscle you're working has been beaten to shreds.

Who Are Your Favorite Bodybuilders?

Kevin Levrone, Lee Priest, Ronnie Coleman, Branch Warren, Dennis Wolf, and Johnnie Jackson.
